What types of mahjong do you teach?
At all public general admission events, we teach Hong Kong style mahjong. We will bring an American set with 2025 cards to each event in case you want to learn/play American mahjong. For private events, we can teach either American or Hong Kong style mahjong. If you want to play your own style of mahjong, we welcome you to bring your own set to play!
I've never played mahjong before, can I come to your events?
Yes! We are teaching mahjong for beginners at all events currently. If this changes, we will indicate on our advertising or this FAQ page.
Is there an age requirement for your events?
Many of the events I host are at locations that serve alcohol; however, most of these locations do not require you to be 21 and over to attend the event. If you are looking for more family friendly or alcohol free options, look out for events at Possible Futures, Elm City Games, and Third Space Lounge & Arcade.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Not all events require tickets or tickets purchased in advance. However, for events that sell tickets in advance, if there are still tickets available, you can buy them at the door for a $5 up charge per ticket. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance when this option is available.
What do I need to bring to a mahjong event?
Yourself! Sets and mats are part of the event, but if you want to bring your own set, feel free!
What is your refund policy?
If you contact me before up until 2 hours before the event that you cannot attend for whatever reason, we are happy to refund you.
We will also refund you if the event is canceled due to weather.
If you missed the event and did not contact me, there is no refund.
